The main purpose of the serum is to strengthen, not lengthen the lashes and it can also be used on eyebrows. Containing amino acids, this serum provides nutrients to support better growth and less lash-loss.
With a price tag of under $15, it’s hard to imagine that it would give any results but surprisingly, it does! As long as you are not expecting your lashes to look longer, you will be pleasantly surprised with a fuller lash line and less fallout during makeup removal and eyelash curling. The only downside is that the product can be irritating to women who have sensitive skin and eyes and can have a drying effect on the mascara, but on the whole- a great product. Use it for at least 4 weeks before you check for results.
Verdict: Affordable and you will see results in fullness and lash strength if you stick it out- a must-have. May make your mascara flaky, however!
Beauty Lash MD
Beauty Lash MD is set at an affordable price of $59 for a four-month supply. It is based on natural botanicals, vitamins, and peptides and is applied to the top and bottom lashes like an eyeliner every night before bed. It can be used on eyebrows as well and claims to increase length, fullness, strength, and darkness of the hairs. While the before and after photos on their website are questionable, in reality, this product does offer increased volume and length after 2 weeks, although still not enough to stop using mascara. Also, there isn’t a noticeable difference in the darkness of the lashes. Oriental women and older women who suffer from sparse, straight eyelashes seem to have good luck with this eyelash growth product and even notice curl in their lashes.
Verdict: One of the more natural eyelash growth products with good results.
Latisse
Latisse is a cosmeceutical product that requires a prescription for use (it was originally a treatment for glaucoma). The manufacturers claim that results can be seen anywhere from 8-16 weeks. The liquid product is applied to the eyelash line daily and promises longer thicker and darker lashes. It costs around $100-$120 dollars and the results are very good if you persevere and wait for 16 weeks to really see the full results. The negative side effects can include redness, itching, and discoloration to the eyelid and eye.
Verdict: Excellent results, but higher risk than other eyelash growth products. For those who prefer natural ingredients-pass!
Idol Lash
